Calum Theal is a grade 11 student at A.N Meyer Secondary School. Sports have always been important to Calum with his true passion being in the sport of baseball. Calum has been a part of the A.N Meyer Varsity Baseball Team since grade 9 and has played travel baseball with the Niagara Falls Falcons for the last 10 years. While at A.N Meyer, Calum's team has won 3 SOSSA Championships allowing them to perform at 3 OFSAA competitions, and during his time with the Falcons, they had won numerous tournaments and league titles as well as 2 OBA Provincial Championships.
Calum has recently been recruited as a pitcher to the Great Lake Canadians Baseball Club, a club recognized as one of the premier programs in the country due to its commitment to top notch player development. He has pitched for GLC during their spring trip to Florida, and currently pitches for them in the Canadian Premier Baseball League. This summer Calum will be playing in many U.S tournaments such as Long Island, New Jersey, and Kent State as part of the Canisius Jr. Griffs Baseball Club.
Calum gives back by volunteering across Niagara, teaching younger athletes hockey and baseball fundamentals, while also being involved in many youth programs by refereeing hockey and umpiring baseball. He has demonstrated leadership as a Camp Meyer Leader, and as a volunteer for Municipal special events running cooperative games and youth sport programs. Currently involved in a cooperative education program as part of the Sports Specialist High Skills Major through the DSBN, Calum has learned valuable skills related to Kinesiology and Sports Physiotherapy at NOI.
